July 2026 at Disney: Fireworks, New Rides & Insider Tips

Hey friend! If you’ve got a trip on the calendar, or you’re still deciding, let’s talk about July 2026 at Disney because there is a lot happening across both coasts this month.
I help families plan Disney and Universal trips every single day, and July always brings a flurry of questions. Fireworks schedules, new rides, whether the heat is actually as bad as everyone says. So let’s break down exactly what July 2026 at Disney looks like, park by park, so you know what to expect before you go.

Table of Contents
Fourth of July Is Getting a Major Upgrade
This year isn’t your typical two night fireworks show. Because 2026 marks America’s 250th birthday, both Walt Disney World and Disneyland are running “Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” across three nights instead of two, July 3 through July 5.
Melissa’s Tip: If you’re at Magic Kingdom, catch the show on July 3rd. EPCOT has its own version with the “Heartbeat of America” finale exclusively on July 4th, so plan your park days around whichever show you don’t want to miss.
At Disneyland, expect the same patriotic energy, with red, white, and blue treats already popping up around the resort, plus Disney California Adventure’s fireworks salute before World of Color on the 4th.

Soarin’ Just Took Off (Literally) in a New Direction
If you’ve flown Soarin a hundred times already, here’s a reason to hop back in line. The attraction has been reimagined as Soarin’ Across America, and it debuted July 2nd at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Instead of just soaring over California, you’ll now glide over landmarks across the entire country as part of Disney’s celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. You can read more about the attraction refresh directly from Disney.
- New scenery and iconic U.S. landmarks
- Same beloved motion and scent effects fans love
- Available at both coasts starting the same week
Steal This Idea: If your family loves a good “spot the landmark” game, make Soarin Across America part of your ride strategy and see who can call out the most states before landing back at home base.
Disneyland’s Birthday Is This Month
Mark your calendar for July 17th. That’s Disneyland’s official birthday, and the park usually marks the occasion with special touches, character appearances, and a little extra sparkle around Main Street.
On top of that, the Disneyland 70th Anniversary Celebration is still running through August 9th, so if a summer trip is on your radar, you’re catching the tail end of a pretty special milestone year.

What About the Crowds and Heat?
Let’s be honest, July has a reputation. School’s out, everyone’s traveling, and Florida humidity is no joke. But here’s what I tell my clients: the last several summers have actually trended toward lower crowds than people expect, especially compared to spring break or the December holidays.
Melissa’s Tip: Plan your outdoor attractions and character meets for the morning before the afternoon Florida storms roll in, and save indoor rides, shows, and shopping for that midday heat window. It’s a simple swap that makes a big difference in how your day feels.
If you’re heading to Walt Disney World, both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach are open all month, and if you’re staying on property, you get free water park admission on your check in day. That’s a great way to cool off without leaving the magic behind.

Bonus Tip: Watch for Flavors of Florida
Disney Springs typically rolls out a “Flavors of Florida” style event in July, bringing citrus and orange inspired menu items across the resort. If you love a good food scavenger hunt, keep an eye on the dining lineup once you arrive.
