I’m a stay-at-home homeschool mom to two girls who love Disney and Harry Potter just as much as I do, and somewhere between teaching multiplication tables and planning our next park trip, Magical Moments by Mell was born.
My Story
Hey friend! I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Melissa – a stay-at-home homeschool mama to two amazing girls who absolutely live and breathe all things Disney and Harry Potter (just like their mama!).
When I’m not teaching fractions or diving into history lessons, you’ll find me planning magical vacations for families who want to experience the wonder of Disney World, Disneyland, and Universal Studios. Because let’s be honest – there’s nothing quite like seeing your child’s face light up when they meet Mickey Mouse for the first time or watch fireworks paint the night sky over Cinderella Castle.
Why I Started This
Here’s what I believe, plain and simple: every kid deserves to experience Disney at least once while they still believe in the magic. Not when they’re grown and skeptical, not “someday when things calm down,” but now, while a hug from Mickey still feels like the best thing that’s ever happened to them.
I’ve talked to so many parents who assume a Disney or Universal trip is out of reach, too expensive, too complicated, too much to figure out on top of everything else they’re already juggling. And I get it. Between park tickets, Lightning Lane, dining reservations, and a hundred blog posts all telling you something different, it’s a lot.
So I started asking myself what I’d want if I were in their shoes, and the answer was simple: someone who actually knows this stuff, who’ll build the trip around my family instead of handing me a generic checklist, and who isn’t going to charge me extra for the help.
That’s exactly what I do.

I’m an authorized Disney vacation planner, and my services are completely free to you. Disney and Universal pay planners like me directly, so you get expert, personalized planning without paying a dime more than you would booking it yourself. A Little More About Me
IWhen I’m not deep in a spreadsheet building someone’s dream itinerary, you’ll find me homeschooling my girls, rewatching a Disney movie for the hundredth time and calling it research, or drinking way too much coffee while I dream up our next trip. We’re the family with the annual passes and the Harry Potter marathons, and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I started this business because I love this world, and I love watching other families fall in love with it too. Every itinerary I build, every tip I share, every question I answer, it’s all in service of that one moment when your kid sees the castle for the first time and you realize the whole trip was worth it.
My Favorite Disney Things
02. Cinderella Castle
No matter how many times I’ve walked down Main Street toward it, that first glimpse of the castle still gets me every single time.
04. The World Showcase at Epcot
could wander from country to country all day, and most trips I basically do.
06. Festival of the Lion King
Loud, colorful, a little emotional, and worth building your park day around.
01. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
I was a Star Wars fan long before I was a Disney planner, so this land was basically built for me.
03. Beast’s Castle
Between Be Our Guest Restaurant and the whole Enchanted Forest, this corner of Fantasyland gets me every time.
05. Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival
I’m a total flower person, so the topiaries and garden displays are pure magic for me.
07. Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival
Possibly my favorite time of year to visit, hands down.
My Magic Philosophy ✨
I believe that magic isn’t about how much you spend or having the “perfect” itinerary. It’s about:
- Watching your kids’ eyes sparkle during the fireworks show
- Sharing a Mickey pretzel on Main Street USA
- Dancing with characters in the middle of the park
- The look on your kid’s face the first time they hold a wand at Ollivanders
- Sipping Butterbeer together in the middle of Hogsmeade
- Creating inside family jokes that you’ll laugh about for years
